April 3, 2017 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am
| The History of the Tulip, including its 17th Century Tulipmania Moment |
| Ila Cox developed this program from a fascination with plant history as it intersects human culture. She will guide us as we explore the history of the tulip, esteemed by many cultures. From its cradle in the foothills of the Himalayas, we follow its journey over the centuries through Persia to Western Europe, where it becomes a principal actor in an economic drama of historic proportion, Tulipmania. Ms. Cox is a plant lover, gardener, garden traveler and a student of garden and plant history. |
