Garden Talk Information

Garden Talk is the Lincoln Garden Club’s member email group—a place to ask questions, share gardening advice, exchange plants and seeds, post photographs, and communicate directly with other members.

The easiest way to start a Garden Talk conversation is to send an email to:

garden-talk@lincolngardenclub.org

1. Create a new email addressed to garden-talk@lincolngardenclub.org.
2. Add a clear subject line so members know what your message is about.
3. Type your question, announcement, advice, photograph, plant offer, or other message in the body of the email.
4. Include your name at the end of the message so members know who posted it.
5. Send the email. It will be distributed to Garden Talk members.

• Gardening questions and advice
• Plants, bulbs, seeds, pots, or gardening supplies available to share
• Photographs from your garden
• Plant identification requests
• Local gardening events and educational opportunities
• Helpful articles, resources, and recommendations

Open the Garden Talk message in your regular email inbox and choose the appropriate reply option:

• Choose Reply to respond only to the person who sent the message.
• Choose Reply All when your response should be shared with the entire Garden Talk group.Choose Reply All when your response should be shared with the entire Garden Talk group.

You may add your own email address to the Bcc field before sending. This gives you a separate copy for your records.

Members may also view conversations and post messages through the Garden Talk Google Groups page.

After signing in, select New conversation to begin a new discussion. To respond to an existing conversation, open the message and choose either Reply all or Reply to author.

You do not need a Gmail address to create a Google Account. You may create one using your existing email address.

• A Google Account may be needed to view the Garden Talk group online, but members can generally send and receive Garden Talk messages using their regular email accounts.

Create an Account Using Your Current Email

1. Visit the Google Account sign-in page.
2. Select Create account and then For my personal use.
3. Enter the requested basic information.
4. Select Use your existing email.
5. Enter your current non-Gmail email address.
6. Verify the address using the code Google sends to your email.

Garden Talk members may choose how often they receive group emails, including receiving every message, a digest, or no email.

To stop receiving messages, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of a Garden Talk email or change your subscription settings through the Google Groups page.
